Storyline:
Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr, a renowned neurosurgeon, accidentally runs over Dolores Benedict, a gold-digging femme fatale, who just recently caused her husband a heart attack. Michael instantly falls in love with Dolores, and they get married. She immediately reverts back to her femme-fatale persona, and is only interested in the doctor's money. Meanwhile, Michael develops a new form of screw-top cranial brain surgery, and meets a Dr. Alfred Necessiter while on honeymoon in Vienna. Dr. Necessiter shows Michael a new technique where he can keep human brains alive in jars filled with liquid, where Michael falls in love with one of the brains, a woman named Anne. Through a series of interactions with a murderer-at-large known as The Elevator Killer, Michael's wife Dolores falls victim, and Michael has a great idea to put Anne's brain in Dolores' body.
What makes it special?
There must be something about comedies made in the early 80's, because many of the movies on this site were made in that era. The Man with Two Brains is another wacky Steve Martin vehicle, giving him the freedom to move way left-of-center in this dark comedy about murder and surgery, a mur-gery, if you will (new genre?).
